Part 1: Sikov Example
A man, presumably in his late twenties or early thirties, can be seen gently holding a young woman in the foreground of the scene. The man and woman are in center focus and are facing slightly away from the camera. The man is shirtless and his hands and abdomen are covered in blood. The woman is wearing a short sleeved, white blouse and is clean compared to her male counterpart. In the background of the scene there are three visible men surrounding the man and woman. These men are dressed in light taupe uniforms and hats embellishing a symbol, implying authority. The scenery in the background shows trees, shrubs, and a cloudy skyline.
Part 2: Contextualization
The man holding the woman appears to be carefully touching her cheek, as if he is afraid of getting blood on her. Although the man is gently holding the woman, his face is turned towards her which shows his desire for closeness. The woman's face is almost completely concealed by the man's profile and hand. Even though one cannot see the woman's facial expression, the way she solemnly holds her head gives the scene a feeling of sadness. The men in the uniforms seem to be approaching the man and woman, perhaps to detain one or both of them.
